Tested Tools is a UK-based car tool review site run by mechanics and enthusiasts who got tired of reading reviews written by people who had clearly never picked up a wrench.

We cover everything from budget OBD scanners to professional-grade workshop equipment — always with a focus on real-world use, value for money, and whether a tool is actually worth the shelf space in a UK garage.

How We Review

Every product we review is either purchased by us or borrowed and returned after testing. We never accept payment to write a positive review, and we always tell you when a product was provided by a brand for review purposes.

Our reviews are based on real use — not just unboxing and reading the spec sheet. If a tool fails, strips bolts, or falls apart after three uses, we say so.
